What is LFPPC Doing?
Our goal for everyone whom God leads to this congregation is that they would grow closer to Jesus Christ. We want to be fully devoted followers of Jesus responding to his call for deeper life, greater service, the easy yoke of living in his grace and power. In this time of social distancing we are working to foster community, connection and spiritual life, which is so vital to living faithfully during a pandemic. To that end we are providing live streamed services, youth group via Zoom, men’s and women’s Bible studies, a parent prayer group, weekly devotionals on Facebook and more.
A Letter from Pastor Frank
This is a crazy time for all of us as we figure out how to live under the stay home stay healthy directive. If you’re like many in our community, you’re probably experiencing a bit of fatigue with the information overload—it’s hard to keep up. The uncertainty of it is probably the worst part—how long will it be like this, what’s the outcome of it, will I be able to manage it?
I want you to know that we’re here for you, and we want to provide a bit of refreshment for you in all of this. Though we’re not able to gather in person right now, we’re still gathering as an online community—we’re offering lifestream worship services on Sunday mornings at 10am. The service is recorded as it happens, so if you miss it live, you can still catch it when it works into your schedule. Our staff is working from home and we are glad to connect with you—there’s contact information on our website and we welcome the chance to touch base. Some of our small groups are meeting through Zoom—we can connect you to them. Our family ministry is providing some tips on how to take advantage of this extended time with your household. Our youth team provides times to connect online to stay in touch.
Our deacons are reaching out to our community to check in with you and find out how you’re doing—they’re ready to help out in any way possible. I’m looking into ways we can be available to you in a live chat format so that we might practice distant socializing.
We have a group of folks who are part of a prayer team—they are praying for our community, but they welcome specific requests for prayer, so if you have something you’d like us to pray for, we are glad to include your request in that.
We believe that God is present during this time and working to bring about good even in difficult situations. We can’t always know exact outcomes, but we trust that God’s love and goodness is for all people, and that God works through people who partner with others in challenging times. As we follow the teaching of Jesus, we learn that loving others is a primary aspect of the life we live. We firmly believe that God loves you and we want to be a way that God's love touches you in any way that we can. This weird moment in our history and however long it lasts, it is still just temporary. What God does for you is permanent and it will carry you through everything. We’re not going anywhere—we’re right here walking with you—let’s walk together.
