Hebrews is a somewhat unique book in the New Testament because it was written more as a sermon that would have been preached or taught, instead of a letter addressing the problems or questions of a specific congregation. As a teaching sermon, Hebrews gives us insight into how the 1st century church was answering the question, “Who is Jesus?” and “What does Jesus tell us about the nature of God?” These were fundamental questions for the new Christian church and remain just as relevant today for all believers whether you’re new or mature in your own understanding of Jesus.
We will systematically work our way through Hebrews using an interpretative teaching commentary written by Thomas G. Long. Weekly study notes will be provided to guide those who desire to explore in depth, but our Sunday morning time will be formatted so you can just drop in and listen to the conversation.
