Friends,

I am pleased to announce that Kim Herbert will join our staff as youth director beginning March 1! Kim comes to us from a Presbyterian church in Seattle where he has served as a children’s and family minister, with two prior positions as a youth director. He has one requirement to satisfy for graduation from Fuller Seminary Northwest with a Master of Divinity degree which will be completed this fall. He and his wife Gabby live in the Magnusen Park neighborhood in Seattle, and he is eager to get acquainted with our youth and the congregation. Since the first Sunday in March is the first, we would have scheduled a “meet and greet” time after the morning worship service, but, March 1 is the day our boy scout troop will be serving their annual brunch for the church. So, we’ll schedule the “meet and greet” for the second Sunday in March. We’ll introduce them on the first and look forward to his work with us. Thanks are due to all who have continued to serve our youth in this interim period—we’re grateful for their commitment to the youth program! Do welcome Kim and Gabby as they come to serve with us in the work God has given us in our community.

This Sunday we’ll also reluctantly bid farewell to Rogerio and Wellen Goncalves along with their daughters Sophia and Mayah. Rogerio and Wellen came from Brazil by way of Florida and have been worshipping with us for some time now. Wellen has been actively serving in our children’s ministry and Rogerio replaced the flooring in our office area and Fellowship Hall after our recent flood event. Due to our country’s fluctuating immigration policy, the Goncalves’ have to relocate to Vancouver, Canada. They have been valued members of our community, so we want to take a moment to bless them and pray God’s care for them on their last Sunday with us. Come and add your blessing to this precious family.

Snowfest is just around the corner for our youth. Pray for them and their leaders as they head off for a weekend of snow fun and an opportunity to grow deeper in faith. A new members class is coming up mid-March during the 9AM segment on Sunday morning March 16, and the women are soon gathering at Rainbow Lodge for their annual “Breathe” retreat. Registration for this is underway. Take advantage of these opportunities and more to get engaged in the life and fellowship of LFPPC!

You’ll note a change in the financial snapshot in Sunday’s bulletin. This reflects the addition of the youth director to the annual budget. We’re grateful for your faithful giving that enables our congregation to keep its promises in ministry both here and around the world. Together we are making a difference for Christ now and into eternity!

See you Sunday!
