Friends,

Good Friday is here, but it is only good in light of Easter. It is good because of the massive display of God’s love that took place. A love that absorbed all of the evil that had corrupted God’s design for creation. A love that compelled God in Christ to do for us what we were incapable of doing ourselves. This great love anchored itself permanently to overcome and outlast all that opposed it. This is the deep, deep love of Jesus that poured out over all of creation forgiving and reconciling us to God. As soon as you’re done reading this, head over to our website: www.lfppc.org, and click on the Good Friday meditation you’ll find there. Our own Tim Cromeenes has composed a piece based on the hymn “The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus” that will bless and lead your thought as you reflect on what this day means even now.

This Sunday we’ll stream our Easter worship service at 10AM. You will find lyrics you can download for the music we’ll include in our service so that you and your family can sing as you gather for worship. Send the link to your friends and family members so that they can join you in worshiping the risen Savior!

On our website you will find a host of resources for your use as a family and for sorting through the various options for assistance available in our area. There’s a link for requesting assistance, and another for offering assistance. We continue to find ways to stay connected even during this time of social distancing. We’re grateful for your partnership in this great endeavor.

Though our worship this Sunday will be different from times past, I remind you that we don’t make Easter through grand pageantry or orchestration—as lovely as these are. Instead, Easter makes us whole, and the people God intends us to be. Nothing about this has changed. The resurrection of Jesus remains the decisive act in history—the act that redeems all of our past and makes possible a future beyond our imagination. Relish God’s great love, live in God’s grand refreshment, and bless without limit in the grace of Christ!

Anticipating Easter Joy with You,
—frank
