Pastor Frank E-Blast

Weekly Update - 09/04/2020

Posted by Andrea Chaumont on

Families, we are thinking about you and praying for you after this first week of school. We know that many of you are juggling working from home with supervising online learning and we are praying for grace (for yourselves and each other) and for the Holy Spirit to encourage you and strengthen you each day.

Pastor Frank is on vacation this week (please pray for him to be rested and renewed on vacation), and we are excited to have Kimberly Crispeno guest preaching this Sunday. Kimberly is a spiritual director who has worked in the past with Renewal Ministries Northwest, and she is an ordained pastor in the PC(USA). You can find out more information about Kimberly and her work here:

The text she will be preaching on is Isaiah 55. I love verses 8-11 which point to our limits as humans and God’s limitlessness.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

This Sunday is Communion Sunday so please make sure you have some bread and grape juice in your home and designate a server for Sunday morning. September 13, we will have both a congregational meeting and Jazz Vespers so look forward to those ways to connect with one another and our broader community.

We look forward to being with you virtually and miss seeing you in person!

Blessings,
Andrea
