This Sunday we are going to be wrapping up our study in Hebrews by delving into chapter 13 – a chapter chalk full of important reminders of practical ways that we are to live out our faith on a daily basis. I encourage you to read Hebrews 13 before Sunday morning so you will be able to absorb as much as possible during our time together. 

One of many important verses we will be studying is Hebrews 13:15 – “Through Jesus let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise . . . “. We will have a special opportunity to do just that on Sunday night at 6 PM when we gather for our “Thanksgiving: It’s Gonna Be Sweet!” event. We will gather to worship and reflect on how we can live a life that cultivates thankfulness, then head downstairs for some sweet fellowship and pie. This is a gathering for all ages (this service is happening on Sunday night instead of Wednesday night so more people – especially the cooks who are usually busy on Wednesday nights preparing their Thanksgiving feasts – can come relax and enjoy a wonderful time with the church family in praise and fellowship). 

On a personal note, Gail and I cannot possibly begin to adequately express our thanks for the unforgettable retirement party at the Nile last week. What a party! We were deeply, deeply touched and humbled by so many of you taking time to come together. Your well-wishes and shared memories were priceless. It was an evening we will cherish and remember for years to come. THANK YOU!!!
